Why Do I Need To Be Saved?

Adam and Eve were created perfect. They were in constant fellowship with God. However, they believed the lies of the devil and sinned. Because of their sin, they were separated from God.

When sin entered the world, the only way that we could come back into fellowship with God was through the shedding of blood. The Old Testament tells us about the animal sacrifices that had to be offered to cover the sins of people.

God is a holy God. Sin cannot enter into His presence. Sin has a penalty. The Bible clearly tells us in Romans 6:23 (NIV) "The wages of sin is death."

Jesus came to pay the penalty for our sins. His perfect, sinless blood was shed on the cross at Calvary for each person who will receive His free gift of salvation.

When we accept Jesus as our Lord and Saviour, our sins are washed away and it is as if we had never sinned. No matter how great our sins are, they can be washed away by the blood of Jesus and we can have a fresh start.

Jesus will accept you just as you are. He promises that He will never cast us away if we come to Him with a sincere heart.
