Thailand

Erik and Mariaana have served as missionaries to Thailand since the beginning of 1993. They started a work amongst the Karen tribe in the providence of Mae Hong Son. Working together with a Karen evangelist couple, Bunya and Ruthrapi, the Ministry to the Karen people has developed and expanded. The work now covers seven villages near the town of Mae Sariang with more than 100 believers under their care and a leadership team in training.

Ministry to Mountain Tribes

For five years Erik and Mariaana were the overseers of an orphanage in Petchabun, Central Thailand, during which time they saw the planting of the first T'Hin Church in the village of Na Sa Ong. It was also during this time that the Lord raised up the New Life Development Team. In May 2000 they moved with the team to Nan in north east Thailand where a new work was started under the banner of Community Health Evangelism which reaches into the unreached communities of the Nan mountains.

New Life Development Centre

A New Life Development Centre has been established in Nan with the local Full Gospel Church as a base home church. Evangelism is taking place into the Nan community as well as the mountain tribal villages.

AIDs Ministry

The team also works amongst adults with AIDS who are socially discriminated, and with the orphaned children whose parents have died due to AIDS. The majority of these children also have AIDS and are now living in much poverty with feeble grandparents.
