Kazakhstan
The passion of Dmitri and Michelle is to rescue those who are in bondage to drugs and alcohol. They are a part of two awesome ministries in Kazakhstan and Central Asia:
1. Teen Challenge Kazakhstan and
2. AOG Kazakhstan
Teen Challenge Kazakhstan
Kazakhstan, like many nations, has a huge problem with drug and alcohol addiction. Teen Challenge was established in 1995 by team leaders Doug and Anna Boyle. Dmitri and Michelle were both also involved in this pioneer work as leaders in the men's and women's rehab programs. In just over 10 years this work has grown to be the largest national Teen Challenge work in the world outside the USA, with more than 500 students and workers in 15 centres, with a staff of 140. It reaches men, women and children with addictions as well as the orphaned, the homeless and the abused. Teen Challenge Kazakhstan also operates a 70 ha farm and a school with more than 150 students and teachers meeting the special needs of kids and young people either in rehab or at risk.
AOG Kazakhstan
AOG Kazakhstan was pioneered in 1996 and the first church planted with the first Teen Challenge graduates and their families. Dmitri and Michelle also helped lead and build this church in its first two years. It is now approximately 400 strong. This church has grown to a movement of 20 churches with 150 pastors and leaders. AOG Kazakhstan also runs its own Bible school with more than 100 students in weekly attendance. AOGK has a vision to plant 50 churches within the next five years.
